Mango

The mango is a tropical stone fruit, native to South Asia, and now cultivated widely throughout the tropical regions of Central and South America. The fruits are generally oval-shaped, and depending on the variety, range in color from green, to yellow, to red, with a mix of those colors also evident depending on the ripeness of the fruit. Mango has a very high content of vitamin C, folate, and other nutrients. It is used in a wide variety of preparations, from fruit purees and smoothies, to ice creams and sorbets, and delicious desserts.
